On May 10th, in Istanbul, after 9 months of intense work, the Report “Living Together in 21st Century Europe” will be presented to the wider public. Professor Danuta Hübner is co-author of the Report. In the document, which was prepared by members of the Group of Eminent Persons, we can find recommendations concerning situation of immigrants in Europe, respect for human rights, tolerance and cultural diversity. Members of the Group call on Council of Europe and European Union to oppose xenophobia, intolerance and rise of level of aggression and deepening of divisions within societies.
The Group of Eminent Persons, was established in September 2010, by the initiative of Mr Thorbjørn Jagland, Secretary General Council of Europe. Nine distinguished individuals were invited to the Group, including Danuta Hübner, Joschka Fischer (Chair of the Group), Timothy Garton Ash, Emma Bonino, Martin Hirsch, Sonia Licht, Javier Solana, Vladimir Lukin, Ayse Kadiogu.
