Professor Hübner discussed with Rudy Demotte, Belgium Minister in charge of regional policy, who on behalf of Belgium government is in charge of cohesion policy during the Belgium Presidency (July-December 2010). Minister Demotte will present in July priorities of the Presidency to the Committee on Regional Development of the European Parliament. He will also participate in the debate on the impact on and practical implications of the Lisbon Treaty for cohesion policy, organised by the REGI Committee and National Parliaments. Among main events of the Presidency is the informal council debate on cohesion policy, its future and Europe 2020 strategy in Liege in November and a seminar on territorial cooperation in September.
