Representatives of R&D sector, entrepreneurs and members of the European Parliament participated in the second European Innovation Summit titled “Knowledge 4 Innovation”. Meetings, seminars and sessions took place from October 11th until October 12th in the headquarters of the European Parliament. Professor Danuta Hübner, one of the initiators of the meeting in the European Parliament and a board member of the “Knowledge 4 Innovation” Forum, chaired the debated concerning the issue of innovation in Poland. She was also the host of the panel on the topic of eco-innovation in public transport. An ideal example of joining innovation, transport and ecology is Amsterdam, who brought over 200 electrical cars out onto the road. Soon the amount should increase to around a thousand; demand is beginning to surpass supply. Professor Danuta Hübner pointed out that the authorities in Amsterdam were able to maintain the bicycle tradition while at the same time reaching for new solutions, which yield no emissions. This example demonstrates perfectly the cooperation between the public sector and local authorities.
