During the plenary session in Strasbourg (December 13) a discussion of two reports prepared by the Committee for Regional Development - „Economic, Social and Territorial Cohesion” by Claude Moraes (S&D, UK) and „Effective Management and Regional Policy in the EU” by Nicole Manescu (ALDE, RO) – will take place.
On Tuesday, December 14, there will be a discussion of the report „The General Budget for 2011” by Sidonia Jędrzejewska. A voting on the draft budget and on the legislative project on the civic legislative initiative will take place on Wednesday, December 15. Civic legislative initiative, whose existence was initiated by the Lisbon Treaty will allow citizens – under the condition that they collect one million signatures – to propose new bills to the European Commission.
That same day Professor Danuta Hübner will give a speech on the topic of market management and on the principal issues which the European Council should respond to (during the Summit on December 16-17), including ways of recovering from the financial crisis, creating a mechanism which would allow to manage the crisis and strengthening the credibility of the Euro.
José Manuel Barroso, chairman of the European Commission, will answer questions of MEPs concerning Wikileaks.
