style="text-align: justify;">Two pens put up by Professor Danuta Hübner to the auction organized by the Great Orchestra of Charity Charity reached total price of 1404€ (first pen put up at the allegro website reached 2338 Polish Zloty, second, auctioned at the Place de la Chapelle in Brussels reached 800€).
As Prof. Hübner stated, the two pens are of historical importance, because they were used to sign important documents concerning high amounts of money from structural funds, granted to Poland by European Union.
Professor, as the special guest of the evening programme of the charity meeting, expressed her deepest gratitude to all Poles and city residents, who arrived to the Place de la Chapelle to support the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
"It's a wonderful activity for solidarity and responsibility for others, especially the youngest who badly needs our help and support", underlined Professor Hübner.
Professor reminded that 2011 has been announced by European Commission as the European Year of Volunteering, which is one of the very visible activity within civic society.
"It's good that the Orchestra arrived to Brussels, because from the very beginning of 2011, we can show real dimension of European voluntary activity, with strong polish accent", Professor added.
Professor called for even greater mobilization in 2012 when the Orchestra will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Thanks to support provided by Prof. Hübner, the organizers earned goodwill from the Brussels City Council with refer to the access to the Place de la Chapelle for the charity meeting. What is more, Prof. Hübner covered accommodation expenses for a group of organizers, musicians, artists from Poland who were directly involved in charity activities in Brussels.
During the Great Finale the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity managed to raise 45.000€ in Brussels.
