During the same day (4th May) Professor Danuta Hübner had a meeting with Mr. Antoni Fogué i Moya, President of Barcelona Provincial Council. The President met with Professor Hübner as a Chair of the EP Regional Development Committee in order to present officially the Barcelona Agenda. In February this year the city of Barcelona organised the summit of ‘Local Government in Networks for a New Europe’. The outcome of this seminar was published in the form of the Barcelona Agenda with recommendations and proposals regarding the principal problems concerning local government in Europe and the role of towns, cities and intermediate governance structures in the pursuit of European objectives (Europe 2020).
